Here’s some of what I’ve been reading on the Internet this week:
-A new adaptation of Pride and Prejudice is in the works from the producers of Poldark via RadioTimes
–LitHub remembers editor Judith Jones– who was responsible for publishing The Diary of Anne Frank and introducing Julia Child to American readers
-I’m so excited for Season 3 of Outlander-I loved this behind the scenes tour at Marie Claire
-Revisiting The Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler Fifty Years Later at The New Yorker
–‘Charlottesville and the Bigotocracy’ via NYT
What have you been reading on the Internet lately?
The fact that this version will “aim to tease out the story’s “darker tones” ” worries me. Not that there isn’t strong social criticism and dark humor present in the original. But I don’t want them to try to make it something it’s not (“Anne with an E”, I’m looking at you…)
