Today marks poet Emily Dickinson’s 187th Birthday!
To celebrate, I plan to flip through my pocket book of her poetry and look through the photos from my visit to the Emily Dickinson Museum in Amherst, MA. I may even do some Emily themed baking and online shopping!
As many of you have probably guessed, my blog name was inspired by one of Dickinson’s poems:
I dwell in Possibility –
A fairer House than Prose –
More numerous of Windows –
Superior – for Doors –Of Chambers as the Cedars –
Impregnable of eye –
And for an everlasting Roof
The Gambrels of the Sky –Of Visitors – the fairest –
For Occupation – This –
The spreading wide my narrow Hands
To gather Paradise –
In April, I got to attend the wonderful exhibition: I’m Nobody! Who are you? The Life and Poetry of Emily Dickinson at The Morgan Library and Museum in NYC. Below are some of the snaps I took during my visit.

Here’s to you dear Emily! Thank you for the words and inspiration.
Are you as big of an Emily Dickinson fan as I am? Do you have a favorite of her poems? (I’m not sure I could pick!)
EMILY!!!! She is so important to me. I heard a fly buzz when I died is my favorite ❤

I first came across the Emily Dickinson in a magazine, which printed her poem ‘Wild Nights’. This is still my favourite, but I am constantly coming across other wonderful poems of hers (including the one above!).

Ooh that’s another great one! Thankfully there are many of her poems to read and discover over a lifetime. I want to read more of her letters too.
