WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words.
The three W’s are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Currently reading:
Christmas: A Biography by Judith Flanders, The Mingham Air by Elizabeth Fair
I can’t believe how few days there are until xmas! I need to make a lot more progress in this nonfiction account of the holiday, but so far I’m finding Christmas: A Biography to be incredibly interesting. I’m also reading The Mingham Air, a charming middlebrow novel from the Dean Street Press/Furrowed Middlebrow Collaboration. It seems to be the gentle, witty read I need at the moment!
Recently Finished:
Seven Days of Us by Francesca Hornak, Snowdrift and Other Stories by Georgett Heyer
I enjoyed the festive contemporary novel Seven Days of Us, although not as much as I had hoped I would. There was plenty of family drama and seasonal atmosphere to keep things entertaining. I knew I couldn’t go wrong with Heyer, and her short stories in the collection Snowdrift and Other Stories did not disappoint. Reading them all made me want to pick up one of her novels asap!
Reading Next:
I’ll be traveling this weekend to celebrate an early Christmas with some of my extended family, and I’m not sure which books to pack. I’m also having difficulty deciding what to read in these final days of the year. I definitely need to start my classics club spin pick 1984 by George Orwell. I’m also craving another Persephone read, maybe Lady Rose and Mrs Memmary by Ruby Ferguson or Mariana by Monica Dickens. Honestly, I’m really itching to pick up Fingersmith by Sarah Waters, but can’t decide if I’ll be able to give it the attention it deserves over the holidays or if I should save it for January.
I think I’m going to read A Christmas Pudding by Nancy Mitford closer to Christmas, and I may pick up Holidays on Ice by David Sedaris and/or 2 A.M. at the Cat’s Pajamas by Marie-Helene Bertino.
In other words, I don’t know. Send help!!
Seriously, feel free to convince me which of these to pick up next.

I think that Fingersmith is a book that you should read when you have break and are able to really indulge. I remember not wanting to do anything else as I read it.
