WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words.
The three W’s are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Currently Reading:
I’m about 80 pages into Autumn by Ali Smith and I am loving every word. I’m in awe of her prose and her play on words; there are so many sentences I want to highlight and reread over and over.
I’m also enjoying another Furrowed Middlebrow novel, A Winter Away by Elizabeth Fair. It’s a charming and comedic story of life in an English village, complete with a delightful cast of characters. This is my second Elizabeth Fair novel, and I can’t help but wish she was more widely read. Fair is like a kinder, more gentle Angela Thirkell, and is full of the best observations of human nature. I highly recommend her books if you’re looking for a lovely light read!
Recently Finished:
In the final days of 2017, I read my Classics Club Spin pick 1984 by George Orwell. I hadn’t really been looking forward to this dystopian classic, but I ended up loving it. It was the perfect book to close out the insane year. I can only hope that it will feel a lot less relevant in 2018…
Reading Next:
I’m not sure what I want to pick up next, but I need to sort out my TBR for next week’s Bout of Books readathon. My goal is to finish 3 books, so I need to choose wisely!
Will you be participating in Bout of Books 21? What have you been reading lately?
A winter away cover caught my eye. It looks good. Link today https://idahobluebird50.com

I just flagged A Winter Fair in my Goodreads “to read” list. It sounds fun.
As for 1984, yeah… it would be nice if it weren’t so apropos these days.

Another blogger mentioned Elizabeth Fair a couple months back and I’ve got her on my TBR – looks right up my alley. So many have praised Autumn and now Winter that I really do need to read Smith. 1984 is another one I’ve never read – I intend to! 🙂

I’m really enjoying Elizabeth Fair’s books so far-they make for perfect light, cozy reading. I hope you’ll enjoy her works too! And Autumn at least, lives up to all the hype and praise. I will definitely be reading more of Ali Smith asap.
