The results for the Classics Club Spin #17 are in!!
The number selected was 3, which means I’ll be reading…
Heidi by Johanna Spyri
I’m very happy about this, since I’ve been meaning to pick up Heidi for the past few months. I have fond memories of watching the film and mini-series versions as a child and look forward to finally reading this children’s classic. I think it will be a perfect March/April read as well!
What book will you be reading for #ccspin17?
Mine is The Long-Winded Lady: Notes From the New Yorker by Maeve Brennan for my first spin!

What a beautiful cover! I hope you enjoy it as much as you’re anticipating. I remember watching a TV series when I was younger. My book is The Crowded Street by Winifred Holtby.

I do hope you enjoy it Jessie – This was the first ‘grown-up’ book I remember reading as a child and I loved Heidi and the grandfather and the goats – I then re-read it to my daughter and was quite surprised at the amount of religion in the book which had obviously completely passed me by as a child reader but she loved it just as much as I had.

Thanks, Cleo! I wish I had read it as a child, but I’m excited to read it now.

I’ve never read Heidi either. My pick is One Fine Day by Mollie Panter-Downes. I’m really looking forward to reading it.
