Here’s what I’ve been reading on the Internet this week:
-The inspiring activist and Parkland shooting survivor Emma González, wrote a powerful op-ed for Teen Vogue: Why This Generation Needs Gun Control.
-HelloGiggles shares 15 of the Most Powerful Signs From the March For Our Lives Rallies.
-If you need a period drama fix, be sure to check out these Historical Costume Movie/TV Trailers for upcoming spring releases, over at Frock Flicks.
–TWO NEW CHARLOTTE BRONTË MANUSCRIPTS WILL BE PUBLISHED THIS FALL!!! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!! (via Book Riot)
-Shondaland has compiled a list of 30 Essential Feminist Movies to Watch For Women’s History Month, and I have not seen enough of them. How many have you watched?
What have you been reading on the Internet this week?
I don’t think I’ve seen all that much feminist cinema. But on that list I’ve seen Clueless, Alien, The Trouble with Angels, Nine to Five, Wendy and Lucy, The Color Purple, The Piano, Little Women, The Witch, All About Eve, Desperately Seeking Susan, Erin Brockovich and The Babadook. I suppose with a few exceptions, I wouldn’t characterize all of those films as “feminist”. Some I definitely would, but with others I think it depends on the lens you look at them through.

Yeah, some of these seem like a bit of a stretch to call a feminist film, but I can understand where the author is coming from. I really need to watch The Piano and All About Eve, and I will definitely be checking out that suffragette film on youtube.
