The “I Love Spring!” Book Tag

I saw this fun seasonal tag at bookswithbain, who discovered the original from booktubers Helene Jeppeson and Amanda Elise Carina.

I really do love spring, and enjoy reading cheerful, cozy books (especially modern classics) this time of year.

1. How is spring where you live?

Spring is unpredictable here on the East Coast of the US. This year, it snowed on the first day of spring, and it’s been pretty chilly and windy lately. I think we’re finally heading into warmer weather though. All the trees and flowers are almost in full bloom, which is lovely to see, but not so great for my allergies.

2. Most anticipated book release this spring?

I’m really excited for the 40th Anniversary Virago Modern Classics editions and the new Persephone books as well.

3. Show us a book cover that makes you think of spring.

I love this cheerful cover and Thirkell’s witty and charming story.

4. What are you going to read this spring?

I’m hoping to check off the majority of books on this Spring TBR

5. Find a cover with the sun on it.

A sun on the cover AND in the title! I’d highly recommend Circling the Sun which is a fictionalized account of the life of the remarkable Beryl Markham. Be sure to check out Markham’s stunning memoir West with the Night too!

6. What are your favorite spring reads?

Some of my favorite spring reads include: The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons, I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith, and a new addition: The Lark by E. Nesbit

You can see some more of my favorite spring reads here.

7. Find a book with many different colors on it.

This colorful edition of The Bell Jar looks very springy to me. That umbrella is definitely seasonally appropriate as well!

8. Whom do you tag?

Anyone who would like to participate!

Happy spring and happy spring reading!

  1. Happy spring to you too 🙂 I also agree that The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons and I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith are great, spring reads. While I haven’t read The Lark by E. Nesbit, but I did enjoy her Psammead series so I will have to look out for this.
