Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme created by The Broke and the Bookish blog, and now hosted at That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is: Favorite Character Names
The names on my list are ones that I like and that I think are perfectly paired with the characters to which they belong. My picks include first and last names, so I also considered how the entire character name flowed together. I think these authors nailed the naming game!
Verity Kindle, To Say Nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis
Atticus Finch, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
Valency Stirling, The Blue Castle by L. M. Montgomery
Bathsheba Everdene and Gabriel Oak, Far From the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy
Olivia Curtis, Invitation to the Waltz and The Weather in the Streets by Rosamond Lehmann
Étienne St. Clair, Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
Cassandra Mortmain, I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith
Henry Tilney, Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen
Francie Nolan, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith
Penelope Wallace, The Lost Art of Keeping Secrets by Eva Rice
What are some of your favorite character names?
Great list! 🙂 I love the name Isabella Woodhouse in Emma by Jane Austen. Isabella is a pretty name. I also like Diana Barry from Anne of Green Gables. Diana is also pretty. 🙂

Steerpike from the Gormenghast books has always been one of my favourites. In fact, *all* of Peake’s characters, and Dickens’ too! 🙂

Really like Henry Tilney (sounds so good together), Cassandra and of course, Étienne St. Clair! Why I didn’t remember him, I’ll never now.
