This week, I’m sharing two historical fiction novels that I was happy to discover on sale as eBooks.
I’ve noticed both books making the rounds in the blogosphere and on Booktube lately, and I look forward to picking them up soon.
A Town Like Alice by Neville Shute is a modern classic set (partly) in Australia after WWII. It sounds like a sweeping novel about war, survival, sacrifice, and love.
I’ve been very interested in reading The Heart’s Invisible Furies by John Boyne since its release last year. I’ve heard nothing but praise for this epic story about a gay man born to an unwed mother in 1940’s Ireland. I can’t wait to follow Cyril’s journey and to get lost in John Boyne’s powerful prose.
Have you read either of these? What book(s) have you been adding to your shelves lately?
