The first ever Dewey’s Reverse Readathon took place over the weekend, and I had a lot of fun participating.
Here’s how I did:
I accomplished my main goal of finishing The Lido by Libby Page and reading the entirety of The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton; both of which are NetGalley ARCs on my 20 Books of Summer list. I was hoping I’d have time to start another book, but the readathon seemed to fly by super fast. Having the start time at 8 pm EST on Friday instead of 8 am EST on Saturday really impacted my reading time more than I expected. Even if it wasn’t quite as productive as I had hoped, it was still fun to switch things up and I appreciated the more laidback nature of this summer edition of Dewey’s.
You can see my Twitter thread from the event here:
Did you participate in the #reversereadathon? Do you prefer the traditional start time or the reverse start time? Are you looking forward to the October #readathon?
Great job! I didn’t participate but I will definitely join in if it’s done again! My usual start time is 6am, so I love the idea of a 6pm start time – that means I can actually read, SLEEP, then read all day! This mama cannot do allnighters anymore. lol

Thanks, Kristilyn! I don’t even attempt the full 24 hours either. Hopefully they’ll decide to continue the reverse readathon in the future!
