The Classics Club Spin #18 results are in and 9 is the chosen number.
This means I’ll be reading…
Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh!!
Brideshead Revisited has been on my TBR for years now and I’m very excited to finally read this classic. I have a feeling I’m going to love it. Needless to say, I’m very happy with the results.
Have you read Brideshead Revisited? If you participated in the #CCSpin which book will you be reading?
Sadly, I haven’t read it–and I don’t think seeing some of the original tv series way back when counts! Hope you enjoy it though 😊

Oh, I’ll be reading a collection of early stories by Chekhov (the author of course, not the crew member of starship Enterprise…).

Hope you enjoy them! I need to give Chekhov a try soon…

I haven’t read it and don’t really know what it’s about. I’ll have to read your review to find out! My spin is “The Little Prince” – a nice short one because I’m packing up to move. Enjoy!

Glad you got one you’re looking forward to! I haven’t read it but maybe you’ll convince me I must when you review it… 😀 I got The Postman Always Rings Twice which might be great, or might not… time will tell!

I have read Brideshead but it’s so long ago I hardly remember it. I’d never seen the TV series so didn’t know what to expect (I really should watch it sometime!). It was more melancholy than I expected.
And the spin has chosen Whisky Galore by Compton Mackenzie so I’m delighted, it sounds like a fun book.

It does sound like a melancholy or even an autumnal novel. Hope you enjoy Whisky Galore. I know nothing about it, so look forward to seeing your review!

I bought it in 2004, in the summer before I went up to university, which seemed like an excellent time to read it. 14 years later, I’ve read five novels by Waugh… but still not this one!

Ahh that would’ve been a perfect time to read it, but at least you still have it to look forward to! Do you have a favorite Waugh novel so far?

It’s a wonderful novel with very distinctive tone – rather wistful and melancholic if I recall correctly. I do hope you enjoy it.
