Happy weekend!
Here’s where you can share what you’re up to on days two and three of the Persephone Readathon #2. (You can find the open post for day one here)
Don’t forget to share your readathon experience and follow along with #PersephoneReadathon.
As always, more details about the readathon can be found on my Persephone Readathon Page
Discussion Question #2
How many of the 128 books Persephone has published have you read?*
- Here’s the complete list of Persephone titles if you’d like a reminder
*In any edition/format
I’ve not got any Persephone books – I hadn’t heard of them before you started this readathon! – but they look beautiful and I’m now itching to order some 🙂

I’m glad to hear the readathon brought them to your attention! Also, I’m sorry in advance if this kicks off a Persephone books addiction! 😉

I’m starting Day 2 by changing horses, I mean books, and starting The Young Pretenders. I’ll save Patience for a later time since it doesn’t fit my current reading mood. Funny thing — I made a list yesterday and was surprised to find I’ve read 40 Persephone titles). (Soon to be 41 😉

Forty Persephones is very impressive! I hope The Young Pretenders is a better match for your mood!

I’ve read 5 in all (Frances Hogsden Burnett’s Making of a Marchioness, and The Shuttle, Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day, Cheerful Weather For the Wedding and I’m currently reading Saplings) but I only own 3 as Persephone editions. My collection is growing slowly!

Those are some great ones! I’m looking forward to reading Saplings and The Shuttle, and I’ve loved the others.

I’ve read 15 Persephones so far – it will be 16 when I finish my current read, which is Harriet by Elizabeth Jenkins.

According to my Goodreads account I’ve read 88 Persephones! I didn’t realize it was that many. I discovered Persephone Books in 2010 and was lucky enough to get quite a few from libraries and via ILL. It’s definitely easier to get them now that I live in Germany and have made a few trips to the UK.

That’s amazing, Karen!! Here’s to your next 88 Persephones!
(Also, what would we do without Goodreads?!)

It looks like I’ve read 11 1/2 (including half of the Persephone Short Stories collection) before the start of this readathon.
