Discussion Question #4
If you were gifted a six month subscription to Persephone Books, which six books would you choose? (The full book list can be found here)

I finished Saplings. You can read my review on my blog.
If I could get a six-month subscription (yes, please!) I’d go with Miss Buncle’s Book, The Persephone Book of Short Stories, The Victorian Chaise-longue, The Children Who Lived in a Barn, Miss Ranskill Comes Home, and Lady Rose and Mrs. Memmary.

These are excellent choices! I really loved Miss Buncle’s Book and enjoyed Lady Rose and Mrs. Memmary. The Victorian Chaise-Longue sounds fascinating too.

Tantalizing possibility! The Persephone Book of Short Stories; Heat Lightning; Good Evening, Mrs Craven; Katharine Mansfield’s Journal, The Hopkins Manuscript; and The Winds of Heaven. Or. Every Eye; The Carlyles at Home; A House in the Country; Cheerful Weather for the Wedding; The New House; and Marjorie Fleming, Or some combination…

We can dream, right?!! I think you have some excellent picks here. I really enjoyed Cheerful Weather for the Wedding and the half of the short story collection I’ve read so far. I really want to read Mansfield’s Journal, A House in the Country, and The Winds of Heaven too.
