Christmas Book Haul

Here are the lovely books I got for Christmas:

The Clockmaker’s Daughter by Kate Morton

I’m currently reading this and am loving it so far.

Once Upon a River by Diane Setterfield

Not quite sure what to expect with this sweeping fairytale-esque read, but I look forward to discovering what Setterfield has in store. I don’t think I’ll love it as much as The Thirteenth Tale however.

The White Album by Joan Didion

I’m so excited to discover Didion’s essays; I’ve loved every excerpt I’ve stumbled upon in the past. I’m planning to read Slouching Towards Bethlehem before picking up this collection.

I Am, I Am, I Am by Maggie O’Farrell

I tore through this in two days and was completely blown away by it.

The Hand That First Held Mine by Maggie O’Farrell

After falling hard for I Am, I Am, I Am, I’m dying to read all of O’Farrell’s previously released novels. Luckily, I had the foresight to request The Hand That First Held Mine as a  Christmas present.

My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh

This weird and buzzed about book was one of my most anticipated 2018 releases. It may be 2019 now, but I’m still beyond excited to get stuck into Moshfegh’s writing.

Normal People by Sally Rooney

I can’t put my finger on why I loved Rooney’s Conversations with Friends so much, but love it I did. I can’t wait to see whether or not I’ll love Normal People even more.

Five Days of Fog by Anna Freeman

Ever since reading her phenomenal debut The Fair Fight, I’ve been anxiously waiting for Anna Freeman to publish another gripping and evocative historical fiction novel. The fact that this one is set in 1950’s working-class London is icing on the cake.

House of Glass by Susan Fletcher

This gorgeous Virago release sounds right up my alley.

Have you read any of these? What books did you get (or give) for Christmas that you’re most excited about?
