This month, I’m excited to join in the wonderful Austen in August event hosted by The Book Rat. I’ll most likely be a fairly casual participant, but I can’t resist an excuse to read and celebrate all things Austen.
Here is my tentative TBR list:
Portable Writing Desk that Belonged to Jane Austen, 18th c, The British Library
This unassuming rectangular mahogany box opens into a sloped writing desk with a leather top. It could be locked for safe keeping and features compartments for storing writing supplies, spectacles, and important papers.
This object is for me-and many Janeites- akin to a holy relic.
Womp, womp. I sort of dropped the ball on the Bout of Books readathon. I was definitely a casual participant that’s for sure.
That said, at least I accomplished my main goal of completing my #austeninaugustrbr reading.

Today marks the first day of Bout of Books 20:

There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. Here are the books I’ll be reading from this week: Continue reading “Bout of Books 20”
To celebrate Austen in August, I though it would be fun to feature a Sunday Salon with an Austen theme.
Bellow are ten articles from around the Internet all about our dear Jane: Continue reading “Sunday Salon August 20, 2017- Austen in August Edition”
