Stacking the Shelves Saturday- 10/14/17

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality all about sharing the books we are adding to our shelves, whether physical or virtual.

This week I received a beautiful giveaway book and downloaded an exciting Kindle deal:

Emma by Jane Austen

During Austen in August, I won a giveaway generously hosted by Chris from WildmooBooks. This week, I was delighted to find a Book Depository package waiting for me with this beautiful edition of Emma inside. As part of the Penguin Threads collection, this cover is embossed to mimic the hand-stitched embroidery of the original design. It has french flaps, deckled edges, and vibrant colors. It is such a charming edition, and I can’t wait to pick it up. I may have to schedule a reread of Emma soon! Thanks so much Chris!

Romantic Outlaws: The Extraordinary Lives of Mary Wollstonecraft and Mary Shelley by Charlotte Gordon

I also added to my Kindle shelf this week, by purchasing Romantic Outlaws-a nonfiction biography of Mary Wollstonecraft and her daughter Mary Shelley. I’ve heard amazing things about Charlotte Gordon’s book, and have been meaning to acquire a copy for ages. The $1.99 Kindle deal was too good to pass up. Both women writers led spectacular and dramatic lives, so I think this will be a very entertaining read.
