I had so much fun participating in another round of the 24in48 readathon
Here’s what I managed to read:
I read four books ( 930 pages) over a total of 16 hours
- Picnic at Hanging Rock by Joan Lindsay
- Dream Work by Mary Oliver
- My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh
- The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides
plus 70 pages of Next Year in Havana by Chanel Cleeton
I thoroughly enjoyed them all. I even managed to catch up on my Goodreads Challenge. I’m already looking forward to the next readathon!
Did you participate in #24in48? What did you read this weekend?
It’s been awhile since I read The Virgin Suicides but I remember really liking it. And frozen grapes are my summertime constant!!!

Congrats!!! I also participated and only managed to read for 15 hours, but had a blast and also improved my Goodreads reading challenge 😬

Impressive amount of reading 🙂 I’m not sure I could read My Year… and The Virgin Suicides in one go – I’d feel very down!

Very impressive! I just started My Year of Rest and Relaxation. Hopefully I’ll like it as much as you did!

Very impressive! And such a nice list of books — were you deliberately aiming for a poetic/dreamy/atmospheric reading session (your four books seem rather inclined in that direction), or did it just work out that way?
I’ve been very curious about Moshfegh’s Year of Rest/Relaxation & intend to read it at some point. I’m not in too much of a rush because I admired more than I liked her previous novel (Eileen). The Virgin Suicides is a book I need to read again, as I think I failed to appreciate fully its style & atmosphere the first time around. I love Mary Oliver’s poetry and always mean to carve out more time for it; Picnic at Hanging Rock has been on my TBR list for years!
