Classics Club Spin #20

Cheers to Classics Club Spin #20!

On Monday, April 22nd, a number from 1-20 will be chosen and I will then have until May 31st to read the book from my list that corresponds with that number.

Even though I never so much as opened my pick for the CC Spin #19 (a re-read of Evelina by Frances Burney), I’m excited to jump back in for this round. I’ve been craving a great classic lately, so I can’t wait to see which one the spin gods have in store for me.

Here’s my list:

Top Ten Tuesday: Recent Additions to My TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme created by The Broke and the Bookish blog, and now hosted at That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is: Recent Additions to My TBR

These ten books are not necessarily the ten most recent additions to my TBR, but rather a diverse sampling of some of the many books I’ve added to my Goodreads TBR this month. I’ve included upcoming releases as well as backlist; nonfiction and fiction.

My 2019 TBR Pile Challenge List

The 2019 TBR Pile Challenge is hosted by Adam at Roof Beam Reader, with the goal of reading the books that have been languishing on our shelves. The challenge is to read and review 12 unread books that have been on your shelf for more than a year, during the 12 months of 2019.

My 2018 challenge was a huge failure, but it’s a new year full of new possibilities.

Here’s my list of 12 Books and two alternates:

11 Books in Honor of the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day

One hundred years ago today, on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, the First World War officially came to an end.

It’s an incredibly sobering and momentous anniversary.

While I plan to spend some time diving back into Testament of Youth this afternoon, there are many books about WWI still on my TBR list. I thought I’d share 11 of these titles  to commemorate 100 years since the end of the Great War.

Dewey’s 24 Hour and Autumn Readathons

There are not one, but two exciting readathons that kick off this Saturday, October 20th!

The first is the well-known Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon. I don’t think I’ll be able to read as much as I’d like to on Saturday, but I couldn’t not participate to some degree in one of my favorite reading/blogging events.

Luckily, there’s a second readathon that will run until Friday, October 26th. Booktuber Mercedes of MercysBookishMusings is hosting an Autumn Readathon that features six fun prompts.

I’m looking forward to squeezing in as much reading as I can over this next week.

Here’s what I’m planning to pick up:
