If you enjoy readathons and Persephone Books*, I have some good news for you: the #PersephoneReadathon is back for its second round!
The Persephone Readathon Round 2 will run from Friday, September 21st through Sunday, September 30th, 2018.
As before, this will be a laid back readathon; read as much or as little as you’d like. The goal is simply to enjoy reading and discussing all things Persephone Books.**
More info can be found on my Persephone Readathons Page
*What are Persephone Books, you may ask? Persephone Books are a London based independent publisher and bookseller, who specialize in neglected books by (mostly) women writers from (mainly) the mid-twentieth century. You can view their website here, and read more about them here and here.
**At this time, Persephone has published 128 books (Full list here). Many of these titles can also be found from other publishers, and some books are even in the public domain and available for free download. You do not have to only read editions published by Persephone. Any edition of these 128 titles counts for this readathon. I know Persephone books can be expensive and difficult to track down, especially outside of the UK. Here in the US, I’ve had good luck with Abebooks for great prices on secondhand copies, and Book Depository for free shipping. Don’t forget to check your local library too!
(Here is a list of Persephone titles available as eBooks, including several in the Public Domain that you can download for FREE)
Be sure to share your readathon experience and follow along with #PersephoneReadathon!
If you’re interested in submitting a guest post (including reviews) or hosting a giveaway for the readathon, I’d love to hear from you! You can email me at: dwellinpossibilityblog at gmail dot com.
Stay tuned for a sign-up page in the coming weeks.
I hope you’re as excited as I am to spend ten days in September celebrating lovely Persephone Books!
According to my Goodreads list, I still have 17 unread Persephones on the TBR shelves! I definitely want to participate, it’s just a matter of which one to choose. . . or how many!

I may be able to join in, but I am trying to finish my ACOB.

Completely understandable, Ali! Hopefully it will work out, but if not there’s always the next time. Good luck with the rest of ACOB!

This is such a great idea, thanks for organizing this! I still haven’t read any Persephone books which is such a shame. Thanks for linking to the free ebooks as well – I’m American and try not to buy too many books online because of shipping costs so I’ll probably start there. I’ll try to join in by reading at least one!

Ooh, you have a lot to look forward to then, Rachel! The only downside to Persephone books is that they can become a bit addicting and they are difficult to find (inexpensively at least) on this side of the Atlantic. I’d love to be able to buy more of them directly from Persephone, but shipping is just so expensive. I hope you’ll find one you’re interested in reading that’s available as an ebook. I’ve also found some great deals on AbeBooks if that helps too.

I was about to say I really want to do this but can’t afford to buy any more books but then I saw you mention that some of these are free and in the public domain! I’m in! 😀 I’ve been hearing so much about persephone books for the longest time. Been dying to read some.
