Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality all about sharing the books we are adding to our shelves, whether physical or virtual.
This week, I’m sharing three very different eBooks I’ve bought over the past month.
I’ve been wanting to read a Graham Greene book, and The End of the Affair seems like an excellent place to start. After all, I can’t resist novels set in London during the Blitz. I’m also looking forward to watching the film adaptation once I’ve read this modern classic.
Impossible Saints by Clarissa Harwood has been on my radar since I created my Suffragette Book List. When I spotted it on sale, I had to add it to my Kindle library. It sounds like a gripping work of historical fiction with complex characters and a memorable love story.
I’m a big fan of the Lore podcast and thought the accompanying book, The World of Lore: Monstrous Creatures by Aaron Mahnke, would be fun to check out. It’s sure to make for perfect R.I.P XIII reading!
Have you read any of these? What book(s) have you added to your shelf lately?
ooh they all look like fascinating reads especially Impossible Saints! Might have to investigate them all! Look forward to hearing your thoughts on them!

I read my first Graham Greene this year, Brighton Rock and thought it was one of the best books I’ve ever read, I’ll read this one next and watch the film too!

That’s so good to hear, Jane! Hopefully we’ll both enjoy The End of the Affair. I’ll have to look for Brighton Rock next…

I really like The End of the Affair – turns out it’s set in Clapham which is the area in London where I’m living now so I think I’ll have to re-read it for a third time to spot all the references!

it’s great reading books when you know the area isn’t it? I’ve just been doing that with Dublin, you can imagine which turn in the streets they’re taking!

Glad to hear you enjoyed it, Rachel! Your plan to re-read it now that you’re familiar with the area sounds like a perfect idea. Hope you’ll enjoy it even more this time!

Oooh I’ve heard very good things about The End of the Affair. I don’t think I’ve explored any of Greene’s work outside of Brighton Rock though.

I have that Lore book. The second one is already out and I’ve been meaning to get a physical copy of it. Most of the time I’m okay with Kindle books but this series I want the physical copies of. Great haul and I hope you enjoy them.

Thanks, Barb! The Lore series does seem like it would be more enjoyable in physical editions. If I love this first one, I may have to get the rest as hard copies too!
